Jones was the only child in a family of five who lived in extreme poverty. Jones' mother moved constantly and even lived in the basement of her church. Jones, who lived an erratic and mobile lifestyle from the moment she started the high school system, was required the option of moving to a new school annually. When she attended Theodore Roosevelt High School, Jones lived apart from her mother to pursue her interests in athletics. Jones was part of four families during her time in high school in order study in one place. Jones was also a cellist in the school orchestra. At school, she won the Gatorade Athlete of the Year Award from Iowa Track And Field. Jones was among the best hurdlers in her age group when she first entered the college. She won the 100-meter obstacle during the 2002 NCAA Track & Field Championship. She also was part of the team that won the 100-meter relay. Jones has won indoor hurdles at the NCAA Championships in both 2003 and 2004. Jones began her track and field career in the year 2005, when she graduated from university. That same year, she won in the Torino Memorial event, and in 2206, she won the Ostrava track event, as and the Heusden track race.
Growing up from Cape Town South Africa Brandt moved with her family to Auckland New Zealand in her in her late teens. Brandt was found by local casting agents, took the lead character of Naevia in the Starz blockbusters Spartacus Blood and Sand and Spartacus Gods of the Arena. She was one of the breakout stars for the show, working alongside Steven S. D Knight & Sam Raimi. Mazikeen appeared as the Vertigo/DC comics fan favorite Mazikeen in Netflix's Lucifer show, which lasted for six seasons. Also, she stars with Jason Ritter Anthony Carrigan Chris Meloni and Chris Meloni as Captain Fall in a mature animated feature which will premiere on Netflix July 20, 2023. Lesley-Ann Brandt, a South African actress born in Cape Town on 2nd December 1981. She is a talented New Zealander performer. Lesley Brandt moved with her entire New Zealand family into Auckland in 1999. The first time she worked working in Auckland as a retail store owner before being promoted to an IT consultant. Lesley was featured in a variety of commercial advertisements after a few modeling projects. Her graduation was with a degree in acting in the year 2008. Then in 2009, she started learning in Meisner methods of study. Lesley's debut prominent role with New Zealand was as a TV actor on Diplomatic Immunity. Lesley Brandt was a guest actor in New Zealand's television show Shortland Street. In a subsequent sci-fi adaptation This Is Not My Life she portrayed the city of Waimoana. Lesley Brandt was cast in the Television series Spartacus: Blood and Sand as Naevia who was a teen hostage. She was later depicted on the Spartacus: Gods of the Arena miniseries.
